VANCOUVER PUBLIC TENNIS is the web presence of local tennis players who wish to maintain and improve opportunities for the public to play this lovely game in our city.
Mission: To develop an organized voice for the sport of tennis that will nurture an ongoing advisory committee to the City of Vancouver.
Goals:
1) To gain a public indoor tennis facility (currently there are no tennis facilities run by the City).
2) To maintain and improve conditions of the public outdoor courts.
Opportunity: Community members are invited to participate on the committee that is presently engaging in discussions with Park Board regarding the construction of a public indoor tennis facility. Or simply show your support for the Vancouver Indoor Public Tennis Project by requesting to be to be put on our e-mailing list to receive updates on the progress of this exciting public initiative.
Contact Wayne, whanem@gmail.com, and ask to be put on the VIPTP e-mailing list.
Rationale: The field sports have a federation who serve in a consultative role with the Park Board. It is our aim to provide a group that will work with Park Board Commissioners and staff to have a similar voice in decisions affecting public tennis facilities for Vancouver.
Next Steering Committee meeting is:
TBA. See Updates for record of recent Steering Committee meetings.
